Wine estate on the Bandol Wine Route, in Provence

The magic of a Provençal terroir

In Le Beausset on the Provence wine route, in the heart of the Bandol appellation, our 15 hectares of vines thrive on ancient clay-limestone soils, a handcrafted terroir.

Between land and sea, spread over 200 north-facing terraces between 250 and 350 m above sea level, the vineyard enjoys all of nature's benefits: an exposure that protects from drought, a sea breeze that invigorates the vines and keeps frost away, sunshine that fills the fruit with sugar, and the mistral that dries things out after the rain. A magical quartet combined with an expressive terroir for AOP Bandol wines with a beautiful aromatic palette.

Organic farming and mastered expertise

Our vines are farmed organically, and we take even greater care of them by following biodynamic principles and the lunar calendar for all vineyard and winemaking operations. Observing nature, respecting and accepting the long cycle of time: the vines set the tone and human hands accompany them. We also take care to harvest each plot by hand and individually, making two passes to remove the least promising bunches and then let those that will shape the identity of our wines grow.

After a cold maceration to better control color and aromatic extraction, plot-by-plot vinification in floating-cap vats promotes oxygenation of the must and improves fermentation. Aromatic lace: expertise in the service of elegance.

Grape varieties and wines

At the Domaine La Font des Pères & Spa on the Provence wine route, Mourvèdre, the noble lord of the Bandol appellation, accounts for 85% of the vineyard. Blended with opulent Syrah and Grenache, it produces an AOP Bandol red wine with a fresh attack, marked by red fruit and sweet spices, silky, structured and with exceptional aging potential. Mourvèdre and Grenache also feature in our AOP Bandol rosés, this time blended with Cinsault: the wines are generous, salmon-colored, with notes of stone fruit, peach and apricot. Young, they are light and fresh, but Mourvèdre encourages longer aging until they become true gastronomic rosés.

More confidential, the AOP Bandol white from the Domaine de la Font des Pères & Spa blends Clairette, Bourboulenc and Rolle in wines with floral notes and a crisp attack finishing with a zest of citrus, perfect with refined cuisine. With also a 100% Mourvèdre Brut Nature rosé made using the traditional method, a rarity on our terroir, plus a gin and a vodka distilled on the estate, La Font des Pères crafts delicate, harmonious wines of pleasure… that leave you wanting more. Observe, feel, savor.
